Key Services
Feature-set design - as the consumer landscape matures, we are seeing a race to features like never before. But what is it that your customers, the specific people who buy your products year in and year out, really want? We've been enhancing feature sets for 20 years, and while some may think the kitchen sink is a good addition to a product, we let your customer decide.
Consumer Product Innovation - Don't forget the innovation! If you have a line of products, there are several strategic innovation paths to consider. We know and understand them all, and are happy to help you create a bulletproof roadmap for your products.
Consumer Tech Design - we've been lucky to have some of the worlds largest brands trust us with their product work. Our designs are sold worldwide in televisions, headphones, connected devices, mobile phones and appliances.
Manufacturing - While we are not taking any new products to manufacturing, our experience in the field is second to none. Our article 'Beat the 97% failure rate in CE' is now taught to university engineering students.

Consumer Tech Case Study - A Family Television
Client: Television manufacturer (top five worldwide).
Engagement: Help our client go from number three in the United States to number two in sales.
Result: After one year in the market with our new design, this manufacturer now holds the number two sales-spot in the United States.
Process:
Our client was already one of the premier television manufacturers in the world, with a team of designers that were on the cutting edge of television technology. But they had been unsuccessful in competing at the lower end of the market, notably in sales at big box retail and online.
Our job was to find a solution that answered the needs of American families. So we set about getting into American homes where we watched people watch TV. This may sound a bit boring, but we chose families with children (TV’s meant for children represent the third largest American television market); so our work recorded a great deal of conflict about what to watch, when, and for how long. We saw parents arguing with children over gaming, binge watching, and surfing the web with a television/monitor in teenager’s rooms. This wasn’t the only conflict, or problem, we saw in the Television market, but it was certainly the largest.
To relieve the stress over screentime, we developed a software solution that was embedded in this manufacturers television user interface. The software allowed parents and children to decide on a set number of hours of TV-time by the day or by the week. We tested this software in over a dozen homes, and noticed that the conflict between parent/child decreased by over 90 percent.
Our client rolled out the solution first to the lower-end of their line, providing them with an immediate competitive advantage at big-box retail. Combined with a blog/influencer campaign, they later added this feature to their entire line of TV’s, from the $200 model available at WalMart to the $10,000 models showcased at CES. They won several awards for the software, and this work represents one of the proudest moments in Rebel’s work – we’ve helped children across the world become less dependent on screentime, which gets them outside, makes them better students, and improves their quality of life.
